There are breads that are left unsold in bakeries, dough scraps that are thrown away, and expired frozen dough that are all discarded without ever being enjoyed.
Japanese brand Yukiko Morita actively repurposes these leftover breads and doughs by purchasing them from their partner bakeries.
From these, they create handbags made from real bread. We are the exclusive retailer of these handbags in London.

Also, because the inside is hollowed out during the production process, there may be some cracks or, in rare cases, small holes. These are not defects.

Q : Are Pampshades made with real bread?
Yes,These bags are made by processing real bread. Please be aware that they are not food.
Q : Is there a risk of it rotting or getting moldy?
The innovative process for creating each lamp includes an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal coating that keeps your Pampshade shining bright for years to come. However, if the coating is damaged, the moisture can get inside and cause mold. Some insect and rat damage may also occur.
Q : Are Pampshades edible?
No, Pampshades are not edible. You may be tempted to take a bite, but please don't! We apply a special coating on the surface and inside to preserve the lamp for many years of use. However, just in case a child or pet accidentally licks the Pampshade, please rest assured that the coating we use is non-toxic.
Q : How are they made?
These are entirely handmade, from baking to completion, right here in Japan.
Q : What are the care instructions for this bag?
Toasted bread is fragile. Please handle it with care. Its strength is comparable to glass.
It is also not completely waterproof. Leaving it for an extended period in a place where it may get wet, such as a bathroom or outdoors, can cause damage.
